Mining Hashrate Low when Computer is Idle
Hashrate Drops when You Leave the Computer Unattended
Some crypto miners encounter this problem on Windows machines. There is no one step solution to this. If you encounter the same problem while mining, you could try the following solutions.
Set Your Computer to High Performance
Maybe your computer is set to Power Save or Balanced mode. Set your computer to 'High Performance' mode in Control Panel\Power Management page. Alternatively it could be here: Control Panel\Hardware\Power Options
Set Radeon Software to eSports Mode (ATI users)
ATI Radeon Software usually runs at Standard mode, if not changed. Switching it to eSports mode at Radeon Software\Settings\Graphics\Global Graphics section may help to keep your hashrate high when your computer is idle.
Set NVIDIA GPU to High Performance Mode (NVIDIA users)
Setting your GPU to High Performance could help to keep mining hashrate up and increase valid shares. Right click to Desktop and go to NVIDIA Control Panel\Manage 3D Settings\Global Settings and select ‘High-performance NVIDIA processor’.
Try Using Different Crypto Miner Software
No miner software is the same, like no GPUs are the same. We did observe that using different mining software could help some miners to keep their hashrate high as possible when their computer is idle.
Open Task Manager and Leave It Open
This may sound silly but we did try that, and opening Task Manager, selecting Performance tab and leaving it open really helps to increase valid shares and keeps cryptocurrency mining software hashrate high, high as it can be.
